The game is currently single player. Based on the roadmap it seems like the developers are going to implement multiplayer in some form some time in the future. |

i dont think you will be forced to make a new character for multiplayer, you will just get the option to keep playing alone or join other players. |

I can see the developers trying to retain character builds and stats when putting in multiplayer mode, but I also think it's wisest to be prepared for character wipes as well. Shouldn't get too attached to your character(s) during alpha, or even beta when that day comes :-P |
