Im against this, I love the dark aspect of the game. It is what brought me into the game

The colors are a part of the enviroment. You can't change them without altering the whole atmosphere and thus, even the story would loose touch. I'm also against it.

Also, I'm a long time Aion player: if you start as an Asmodean there's like 80% of dull and desolate plains in the newbie area, even a cemetery and dead places. With the only exception of Lake Tunapre and the forest near it.

Once you get to Continental Highlands, one map immediately north of Crimson Isle, you will see MUCH more greenery.

Each map will vary :) the next one to be released will be Westpine Hollows, and it looks like a nighttime map in each of the preview screenshots I've seen.

I'm agreeing to Zyrene and Dejanira. This would destroy the feeling of various landscapes. I like the adaptments to various areas and stuff.

I've completely filled out both maps (except for the castle). Continental Highlands is more green but still not lush by any stretch of the imagination.
I'm just afraid that newbie players will try it, find the all brown look boring and leave before they give it a chance.

If you've played Gothic 1, 2 or Risen 1 (PiranhaBytes) The gameplay is very similar to this. You can get a dark aspect without the blah look.

I think your concerns are valid. However i must say that I fell in love with the graphics as soon as I started playing. I am not a fan of vibrant graphics. But thats my view, and you are definitely entitled to yours.
